Grantwriting Workshop Rescheduled for November
10th |

The 21st CCLC Request for
Applications (RFA) for High School programs (ASSETS) was
released on Monday, Oct. 27th and is due Friday, Dec.
19th. To download the RFA, please go to http://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/ba/cp/funding.asp.
The RFA for
Elementary/Middle School programs has not yet been
released. If you are planning to apply for an
elementary/middle school, we would still encourage you
to attend this workshop as we are not planning to
provide another one and are not expecting significant
changes from the 08-09 RFA.

The California
Afterschool Network in partnership with the California
Department of Education's Learning Supports and
Partnership Division has announced the rollout of
California's After School Program Quality
Self-Assessment Tool.
The Tool and User's Guide
are available to download at http://www.afterschoolnetwork.org/qsatool. Watch for more information from
the Network about the rollout of the Tool and User's
Guide.

School ASSETS Grantees Youth Leadership Training on Nov.

The Bay Area Partnership
and Region 4 After School Programs are offering the
following training for High School ASSETS site
coordinators, district or program coordinators and line
staff:
ASSETS Training - Making It Real: Lessons
in Leadership Thursday, Nov. 13th 10 am to 1 pm
Youth Uprising - 8711 MacArthur Blvd. in Oakland -
free parking available (Lunch will be
served)
The John Gardner Center from
Stanford University will present its YELL (Youth Engaged
in Leadership and Learning) curriculum and help you
think about how the strategies and lesson plans match
your program's goals and activities.
